We are going to be using a magical tool that is a must-have. We recommend using a “Tone Generator.” What is a “Tone Generator” and what does it do? You can pick up a “Tone Generator” from Amazon for about $75.00.

A “Tone Generator” sends sound through the wire to your speaker. Once you attach the wire to the “Tone Generator” you will hear a series of sounds from the speaker. Then you can label the speaker. Use the tone generator to identify the speakers.

Pro Tip – Be consistent when you identify the speakers.

Put your labels in the same place on every wire.

Cut the wires to the same length for neatness.

The speakers are designated as if you are watching TV. The front right speaker is the speaker to the right of the tv and so on. Label the wires with a permanent marker.
